True Fruit & Fun!
If you lived in the U.S. in the early 1980’s, more than likely you saw commercials of the new Fruit Roll up craze sweeping the nation. In an attempt to get children to eat more healthy foods, companies marketed to parents that they can now feed their children processed food containing “real” fruit. One company boasted the tagline. Real fruit and fun rolled up into one! However, much to the amazement of many parents, it was quickly discovered that these new, “healthy” foods were really not that healthy at all, containing little to no fruit. That sweet, addicting flavor that their children were consuming was really the result of their main ingredient…sugar. In fact, five different types of sugar: sugar from pear juice concentrate, corn syrup, dried corn syrup, sugar and dextrose! Further examination discovered that the nutritional value was no better than some gummy candy.
We are proud to offer this favorite food pastime with absolutely no sugar added at all! The only ingredient that brings the sweet to these treats is our flagship product, Tehachapi grown Fuji Apples. Parents can now feel comfortable giving these snacks to their children, knowing that they are truly eating fruit. Kids love the fun flavors such as; Apples, Strawberries, Raspberries, and Pears. We’ve also added some other flavors that adults love too, like Persimmons, Ginger, and for those that like a little kick, Jalapeño! If you’re nuts about nuts, check out our Fruit Brittles, available in Almond and Walnut! All of these products are conveniently packaged in easy-to-carry, resealable bags, ready to satisfy those snack attacks!
We do not currently have storage information available for our products. Generally, storing food in the refrigerator will extend shelf life versus keeping it in your pantry. Further, freezing items, such as our dried fruit, will extend that even further!
There is a fantastic website called, Still Tasty. This site provides food storage information sourced from various U.S. government agencies, such as the USDA, state government agencies, as well as food and beverage companies. They have compiled an extensive list of food and beverages where you can search up the best way to safely store your items.
