Thank for your interest in Ha’s Apple Farm! Here is a little information about the family and the farm.
David and Kyung Ha, together with their four young children, moved to Tehachapi and began apple farming over 30 years ago. Their mission: To grow delicious, natural and healthy fruits and create fruit-products at the highest quality for all their family, friends and customers to enjoy.
Located at an elevation of over 4,000 feet above sea level, their orchards provide the perfect mix of warm ripening California sunshine and sub-freezing, wintry cold to lock in all that tasty crispness! Farming in such an environment is not without its problems, but our customers remind us every market that the results are well worth it.
Mr. & Mrs. Ha chose to initially specialize in growing Fuji apples due to their delicious taste and popularity, but have since expanded to include many other varieties such as Pink Lady, Granny Smith, Cameo, Red Delicious, etc. to name just a few.
Thirty years later, David & Kyung have expanded their fruit and fruit-product line to include seasonally available grapes, melons, pears, peaches, persimmons and pomegranates. Their homemade drying room now allows them to dry sliced Fujis in the California sunshine to produce a tasty (and healthy) snack-alternative to potato chips. And their onsite solar-powered kitchen turns out a flavorful variety of jams, jellies, syrup, cider and vinegar. Nothing is wasted – they even chop up the old/dead trees for firewood and/or chip it for BBQ smoking!
Add to that a few thousand chickens and a few hundred ducks running (or swimming) around producing a daily clutch of eggs, together with online ordering of selected products via our website and you have wonderful assortment of healthy food feeding families across the country.
